Journal of Laws 2010 No. 109 item 719, Regulation of the Minister of Internal Affairs and Administration of 7 June 2010 on fire protection of buildings, other structures and areas, in § 11.1. states that storage of Class III liquid fuels for the user's own needs is permitted in an above-ground double-walled tank with a capacity of up to 5 m3: 11.1 Storage of Class III liquid fuels for the user's own needs is permitted in an above-ground double-walled tank with a capacity of up to 5 m3. The tank for storing Class III liquid fuels for the user's own needs referred to in section 1 should be located while maintaining the following distances: 1) 10 m – from residential buildings and public utility buildings; 2) 5 m – from other structures and from the boundary of the neighboring plot. The distances referred to in section 2 may be reduced by half, provided that a fire separation wall with a fire resistance class of at least REI 120 is installed between the building or structure and the tank, shielding the tank from the side of the building or structure. It is permitted to use the external wall of the building or structure on the tank side as the fire separation wall referred to in section 3. In the event of non-compliance with the above regulations, the relevant authorities may impose penalties on the entrepreneur, including a ban on use or demolition of the internal fuel station.
Plastic tanks are subject to technical inspection, which may be carried out in simplified or limited form. Tanks with a capacity of up to 2.5 m3 are covered by simplified technical inspection, while tanks with a capacity of 2.5 m3 - 15 m3 are subject to limited technical inspection. This is determined by the provision in § 63 of Journal of Laws No. 113 item 1211 of the Regulation of the Minister of Economy of 18 September 2001.
As mentioned above, if you have a tank with a capacity in the range of 2.5 m3 - 15 m3, you must submit an application to the local Technical Inspection Office unit. A detailed list of units is available on the website www.udt.gov.pl/kontakt-udt Device registration with UDT To register a technical device, you must submit to the UDT Branch an application for an inspection/change of device data subject to technical inspection/operator data (see appendix no. 1 of the compendium). Two sets of device documentation (in Polish) must be attached to the application for each device being registered. Complete technical documentation is provided in an envelope upon delivery of the tank. You must also attach a tank location plan including the place where the tank is installed, the related equipment and the layout of neighboring objects – a hand-drawn sketch is acceptable. The application and required attachment forms are available at https://www.udt.gov.pl/formularze . The required documents may be submitted in person, by post or online via the ePUAP platform, however the recommended option is to visit the office in person. Verification of documentation by UDT The competent UDT Branch will review the application without undue delay. After any deficiencies have been completed, the UDT Inspector will proceed with the acceptance inspection. In order to carry out the inspection, the UDT Inspector will agree (usually by phone) with the applicant on the date and place of the inspection and will provide requirements regarding how to prepare for it. Acceptance inspection The purpose of the inspection is to confirm that the device can be put into safe operation. The acceptance inspection is carried out by a UDT Inspector in the presence of the entrepreneur operating the technical device. The tank location, absence of any damage, cleanliness of the interstitial space and operation of the leak detection device – Apollo Smart or Apollo Visual Bunded – are checked. Issuing the decision A positive inspection result will allow the UDT Inspector to issue a decision authorizing operation of the device. Based on the issued decision, an inspection record book for the device will be created - the method of delivery will be agreed. The decision is issued once every 2 years. After the inspection, an invoice for PLN 250 is sent (payable once every 2 years). When the 2-year period expires, the Inspector contacts the tank owner to carry out the next inspection.

- check of level and fuel leak sensors, battery replacement, indication calibration,
- cleaning of mesh filters (in the pump, suction hose),
- assessment of main filter condition,
- tank leak-tightness check,
- inspection of hoses and dispensing nozzle,
- general assessment of the tank's technical condition (material, deformation, etc.).

Journal of Laws 2010 No. 109 item 719, Regulation of the Minister of Internal Affairs and Administration of 7 June 2010 on fire protection of buildings, other structures and areas, in § 11.1. specifies that a tank for storing Class III liquid fuels for the user's own needs must be located while maintaining appropriate distances. The drawing below shows many installation variants. The issue of the material used as the base under the tank is not strictly specified, however in the Regulation of the Minister of Economy of 21 November 2005 (Journal of Laws No. 243, item 2063) Chapter 4 §38 point 1 on the technical conditions to be met by liquid fuel depots and stations, it is stated that around technological facilities, where leaks of crude oil and petroleum products may occur, ground sealing must be carried out to prevent petroleum products from penetrating the soil, surface water and groundwater. A foundation design to be executed is prepared for every Fortis Tank tank. The design is provided when purchasing the tank together with the manual and warranty card.
It is possible to place more than one 5000 L tank if the Inspector of the relevant Fire Brigade unit permits such an installation. Depending on the Inspector's interpretation, a capacity of 5000 l may be the maximum value that can be installed on the property. In most cases, permission is granted to install multiple tanks, provided that each individual tank has a maximum capacity of 5000 l. Therefore, you should contact the local Fire Brigade unit to obtain permission for such an installation.

The notification applies to installations that do not require a permit. The Regulation of the Minister of the Environment of 2 July 2010 on cases in which the release of gases or dust into the air from an installation does not require a permit (Journal of Laws of 2010 No. 130 item 881) lists in point 16 installations for the transmission, handling or storage of liquid fuels. Fuel tanks are installations listed in the Regulation of the Minister of the Environment of 2 July 2010 on the types of installations whose operation requires notification (Journal of Laws of 2010 No. 130 item 880). In accordance with the Environmental Protection Law of 27 April 2001 (Journal of Laws 2016 item 672 as amended, Art. 3 point 6), an installation means, among other things, a stationary technical device. The tanks in our offer are standardly equipped with a dispensing system, fuel level sensor, delivery hose with automatic nozzle, and vent, therefore they should be considered technical devices. Fuel storage tanks constitute an installation within the meaning of the Environmental Protection Law if they are operated in one place and their transport is incidental. Long-term operation of a specific device in a given location associated with emissions affects the condition of the environment. Due to the fact that the operation of tanks is associated with emissions, the purchase of a tank should be reported to the relevant environmental protection authorities. Notification of an installation that may adversely affect the environment must be made: Before operation begins - 30 days before the planned start date of operation. If within 30 days from the date of submitting the installation notification application to the competent authority no objections are raised, operation may begin (this is in accordance with the Code of Administrative Procedure). During operation - Within 6 months from the date on which the installation became subject to the notification obligation. There is no mandatory notification template. However, in accordance with Art. 152 section 20 of the Environmental Protection Law, the installation notification must include: identification of the installation operator and their residential or registered office address, address of the facility where the installation is operated, type and scope of the activity carried out, including production volume or the scale of services provided, installation operating time (days of the week and hours), amount and type of emissions, description of the methods used to reduce emissions, information on whether the degree of emission reduction complies with applicable regulations. A sample letter is provided in Appendix No. 3; the document can be downloaded from www.fortistank .pl The environmental protection authorities to which the installation notification should be submitted are: voivodeship marshal: when the installation requiring notification is located within a facility where an installation that may always significantly affect the environment is also operated; regional director for environmental protection: for installations in closed areas (the concept of closed areas is defined, among others, by the Geodetic and Cartographic Law, where closed areas are understood as areas of a restricted nature due to national defense and security, designated by the competent ministers); district governor: for other installations; city mayor: for other installations if the installation is located in a city with district rights. The installation should be reported to the appropriate environmental protection authority competent for the place where the installation is operated. Fee: PLN 120 − stamp duty for accepting notification of installations that may adversely affect the environment and whose emissions do not require a permit.
The tank should be grounded in accordance with the regulations in force in the Republic of Poland concerning above-ground tanks for storing liquid fuels.
Make sure there is diesel fuel in the inner tank. Connect the power supply to the lead coming from the distribution box. Turn on the power by switching the power switch on the distribution box to the “|” position. Set the ball valve (above the pump) to the open position (valve handle aligned with the suction hose). Turn on the pump by pressing the button to the “|” position.

The pump does not start: Check whether the dispenser is connected to the power supply; Check whether the switch on the pump is in the ON position; If the tank is equipped with systems that cut off power to the pump when the fuel level in the tank is low, make sure the minimum level has not been reached. Check the electrical connections, in particular whether the power cable leading to the pump is not damaged. Contact FORTIS SERVICE The pump starts but no fuel flows: Check the fuel level in the tank; Check whether the suction hose in the tank is lying at the bottom and is not above the fuel surface. Check or replace the main filter in the tank. Check whether the mechanical ball valves in the tank are open. If the tank system became air-locked before the problem occurred, check the condition of the vanes in the pump. The pump does not want to self-prime Check whether the mechanical ball valves in the tank are open. In rare cases, the nozzle may become air-locked, preventing the pump from drawing fuel through the pump. In such a case, unscrew the nozzle and try to bleed the system without the nozzle. In the case of heavy contamination, a large amount of water, or paraffin precipitation in the fuel, the filters may clog very quickly (even after 500 l of dispensed fuel). According to PN-EN 13341+A1 for above-ground thermoplastic tanks used for storing light heating oils, kerosene and domestic diesel fuel, the tank may be filled up to 95% of its nominal capacity. The electronic overfill protection in Fortis Tank tanks consists of a probe installed in the upper part of the inner tank and a connector located in the distributor housing. Its operation is based on the electrical resistance of the PTC thermistor located in the probe. As the thermistor resistance changes, the current value changes accordingly. During refuelling, the indicator is connected by cable and plug to the overfill protection control device on the tanker. The indicator is live, which causes the thermistor to heat up. Depending on the temperature, the current value changes, causing the tanker's shut-off valve to open. When the liquid in the tank reaches the fill level, the thermistor is immersed in the fuel and cools down, resulting in a rapid change in the sensor's electrical resistance. This change in resistance causes a change in the current in the indicator's electrical circuit, which makes the tanker's overfill protection control device immediately stop the refuelling process by closing its shut-off valve. The level at which the probe is activated is determined by its position relative to the upper wall of the tank. It is approximately 95% of the maximum volume.
